Default Shift Interlock Actuator

My 2004 F250 will sometimes not shift out of Park. If I press down really hard on the brake, sometimes it will then shift. I'm worried it will lock up and I have to have it towed. I have looked in my Chilton's manual to trouble-shoot it, and have checked the position 5 and 15 fuses like it says, but they are good- evrything else works fine, lights, etc.,.
It is only an intermitent problem- so far every time I mess with it a bit, it will shift. Any suggestions- should I just replace the Shift Interlock Actuator- how expensive are they- and is this a dealer only part ?
