Default Starter skipping when hot

My 2008 F250 has begun to skip intermittently when being started hot, starts fine when the engine is cool. I have replaced the starter & battery. Alternator checks out on a handheld (not sure how reliable they are). Any help is appreciated, thanks.

When you say skip do you mean misfire?
When were plugs last changed?
Can you supply a little maintenance history?

It doesn't drag, it's like it skips. Plugs changed at 90,000, 118,000 current miles

Still trying to get the full picture,
Do you mean the starter engages and drops out then tries to engage again?
