I have an 1997 f250 that will only come out of park if the ignition is on position then I have to start it in neutral so I can drive I replaced the ignition switch. thinking I may have to replace the shif tube but not sure..
has anyone had this prob that can shine some light ????

 

Did you check the 2 torx screws at the base of the shift tube for the shift lever/cable? Common for them to back out and usually causes a 'selector hunt' and excessive play..
