Default Testing coils

I have a 2005 f350 with the 5.4 engine. Was just wanting to know if there's a way to test an individual spark plug coil? Thank you

One way is to use an ohmmeter to measure the coils resistance. Never hurts to have a spare good coil on hand.

It is not recommended to switch with another cyl. If the coil is shorted it could have already ruined the PCM. If a good coil is not available , now you can wind up with 2 misfires instead of one.
Many times there may be a carbon track inside the coil boot, which if cleaned out could get rid of a misfire.
