Default Tranmission Troubles?

I need some help figuring out this problem! I have a 2001 F350 4x4 with a 7.3L turbo diesel. I stopped at a red light. When I start again I went thru first and second gear, Then I had a huge pop and the tach went up to 3500 rpm. The truck stop moving until I took my foot off the gas and it dropped back into second gear. First, second, and reverse still work. Did I just loose the tranny or is there other possiblity that might be wrong here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Tony
