Default 2006 Electrical Issues

I have a 2006 Five Hundred, and have started to have some electrical problems. The car battery is going dead. I've replaced the battery, and checked that alternator with no issues. What is strange is what happens when it dies.

When I try to start the car, I get the usual clicking solenoid sound, but the CD changer start to shuffle the disks, the radio turns on, and the temperature gauge reads 4 degrees (its not 4 degrees out). When I remove the key, the radio stays on and the CD changer keeps shuffling. I had to disconnect the battery to stop it. But when I reconnect, the CD starts to shuffle like it is trying to change disks.

Any ideas?

Thanks

As we all know electronics can do some weird things especially with low voltage problems.
It appears that something is staying activated and causing the battery to become discharged. There is a battery saver relay that is supposed to stop supplying voltage to the small loads after the ign is turned off. this relay may be being kept energized by a faulty relay , or possibly faulty GEM module or maybe even a questionable connection in the system. There is a procedure to use to help isolate the problem area ,but I don't know if you want to get involved in doing it.

providing a written explanation for all the variables for a parasitic draw test would be wordy to say the least.

search etcg (eric the car guy) as he may a video walk through for this procedure.

you will need a dvom with a min/max feature and a battery cut off switch

My mom has a 2005 Ford Five Hundred 40k miles And the back up lights were on when in park or driving. And the dash lights did not come on. They replaced the battery and alternator. And a week later the car won’t start now. It makes clicking sounds when you turn the key. It has been connected to the computer 3 times and shows no codes.

Ignition key cylinder? Esp. if it binds and hard to turn..... I assume you have the battery cables, at the battery AND the starter AND the grounds, perfectly clean and tight.

I didn't do a darn thing because they LOOKED clean and tight.
If we don't spell out they need to be removed , cleaned, and then reinstalled ,,do they want to do that.?
