AC cold on one side only?
Hi guys! I hope you can help me as I try to fix my ac issue.
I have a 2005 Ford Five-Hundred Limited AWD. It has the dual climate control with AUTO function. The AC blows fairly cold from the driver side only. This is the vent to the left of the steering wheel through to the left vent in the middle. I already did a lot of research and replaced the blend door actuator that is located behind the glovebox. Unfortunately this did not fix my problem.
When I first turn the car on, I can hear a creaking noise from behind the middle 2 vents. However I can't find any information on where a blend door may be located behind those vents. I have not yet tested my HVAC pressures, but it seems to be fairly cold on the cold side - enough where if I'm alone I just close all the other vents and let the cold blow. When I turn the heat on - the heat works on both sides. However when I turn the cold on, it feels like ambient outside temperature on the passenger side and cold on the driver side. I tried to "reset" the blend doors but holding a combination of different buttons but I have had no success. I think I'm doing it wrong? I only have auto/off/ac engaged. There is no "power" button that I keep reading about. I can't figure out which fuse is for the HVAC either. I've disconnected the battery but I'm not sure it did anything.
Is there any tutorial or manual where I could find the blend door behind the middle vents ? (or wherever it may be) . Or does this sound like I need to try and recharge the refrigerant?
Thank you so much for your help. Its my first time on this forum, so please message me or reply (however it works). Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I would not bother to get involved with the Air conditioning system because it either blows cold air or does not and in this case that seems to be working.
It does sound like there is a directional door problem and you most likely will need to remove the glove box to find it.

Now it blows relatively cold but it's also not freezing. Its the kind of cold I expect from a 20 year old vehicle tho. I'm by no means an expert but I try to learn as much as I can, so I may hook up pressure gauges to see if it may be lower than I think. Could a low pressure cause this issue?
Thank you so much for a reply.
If you want to invest in a set of pressure gauges, that is great especially if you can help others that don't know what to do.
While there also get a pair of safety goggles and we should be able to offer some helpful suggestions.
To help understand what you are doing, just read a couple of air conditioning articles so you know why you need to do the steps necessary.
It can be very rewarding..Air conditioning all involves the same steps and once understood it can save you a lot of $$$ and problems.
Different systems all need to do the same steps and some just do it a 'little differently, but must get the same result..
Learning can be fun especially when you can check , find the problem, fix it and everything is COOL , lol.

Yes just wanna fix my ac and chilllll! Lol. I'll likely experiment a little tomorrow and run back here to ask more questions, hopefully not sweating too much in the process. Thanks for your responses!
