Driving issue
So one day I went to leave and the car wouldnt move. When I pressed the accelerator the car wouldnt move, like the brakes were being pressed even though they werent. Will a new brake booster fix this issue? I replaced the master cylinder a couple years ago. Could it be a vacuum issue? I had it towed to a shop but didnt have the issue when they tested it. I got to work and the problem started again, and its been sitting 3 months now.
ANYBODY REAL HERE ANYMORE?! PLEASE HELP!!

Ya gotta keep in mind that folks do work and do not always have time to sit at the computer to answer questions.
How about you tell us the year , model and what other work was recently done.
We ask this because don't want to duplicate efforts that did not help and do not want you to waste your time and effort also !
Do you have any idea of what the towing co might have done that caused the problem to be gone once delivered ?
There could be ,,,,,,, an electrical problem ,a trans problem and maybe a brake problem and because we can't see for ourselves, have to rely on the info you provide.
SO please tell us exactly what you do when you want to start the vehicle moving.
What do you feel and any other info you can provide, could be helpful in attempting to diagnose from miles away, thanks. .

When you shift to D but it revs only as if you were in neutral, how about can you try reverse position does it work at all? How about gear selector 1?
How about you find a helper to shift with parking brake engaged, then you go and look at the shifting linkage at the transmission, can you see something is moving?
If your shifter can't communicate with your transmission then the car can't move. Or if they communicate but your transmission doesn't react accordingly, then it can be range sensor or TPS or even a dirty or low transmission fluid level. Have you ever changed the fluid and filter and how long ago?

Its a 2006 SE 2wd 3.0L v6. Its definitely not a trans issue. Has to be some kind of braking or vacuum issue because when it happens, I can turn the car off and back on and it'll drive fine until it happens again. Master cylinder was replaced a couple years ago, but was told there was some small vacuum leak somewhere.
So we are all on the same page,
Is there anything particular that you are doing at the time it goes into limp mode?
Turning the ign off just allows the computer to reset until the problem comes up again and we need to know what the vehicle is doing at the time it goes into limp mode..
Is it at a certain speed, are you turning a corner, the conditions at the time can be critical to help narrow down what systems might be involved.

Exactly.
He insisted something wrong with the braking system which I don't think so.
1) parking brake alone can't out muscle the engine and the transmission, and if they are fighting with each other, you inside the vehicle can feel it.
2) if something wrong with brake booster or master cylinder, you can only have less braking power, not more to a stage where they can out muscle your engine and transmission causing the "no forward" at this moment he still hasn't told us if he has "no reverse" as well.
So please, no more guessing, let us know so I can provide you the pinpoint tests.
