I just finished replacing the rear spark plugs and coils to try and resolve my misfire on cyl 1. Well when I took off the fuel line at the passenger side of the intake to remove the assembly... The stupid clip broke.
It's a clip + safety clip combo deal. Thought for sure I could search it out but I'm coming up empty handed with finding a part that looks like what I broke.
Everything else is back together but I'm not starting her up until that fuel line is secure. Any tips?
SOLVED IT! I spent almost as much time searching for this clip as I did removing the intake.
I thought I had damaged the entire safety clip assembly... Thankfully not because that part is indeed impossible to find. As it turns out the only part I broke was a clip that Dorman makes (part 800-023) that slides into the bracket on the end of that hose.
I'll include the picture of what I needed and also what I thought I needed (discontinued and that part number is suspect because an eBay seller with a photo of that part number was something different despite being in an OEM bag w/ that number on it).
So if you ever take off the fuel line at the intake to do spark plugs DO NOT break that outer safety clip! But the u-clip thankfully was available aftermarket.
