Question Fuel filter: FG-1060 or FG-986B?

If you own the 2005 500 which fuel filter are you using? I believe the one on mine is the 1060. The 986B is about 7 inches long as the 1060 is 3. I would sure like to get some ideas. By the way my OM says the 1060. Thanks!

The FG986B is a smaller diameter filter and if your vehicle uses the 1060 that holder is larger and it may have different retainers with the connectors. If you are contemplating replacing the fuel filter don't forget to relieve the pressure before removing the ends which require a special release tool.

Default Something ain't right

My OM states 1060. When I go to look things up the 986B shows. I did get under the car, and I measured the length of the filter (does not include the ends), and it measured a little over 3". I should be getting the filter (via eBay), and will carefully put them side-by-side. Thanks for your reply.

This morning I went to fordparts.com. I was asked for my VIN. I looked for the fuel filter. It shows the 986B. I ordered same from an eBay website about six days ago. It came this morning. I had to go to an auto parts store and purchase the tool that had both 5/16 and 3/8. I did get a "baptism" of gas, but only a cup. No problems. My 500 started right up after I got the fuel pump accessory about 6 times. I bet I saved myself $70 or more. It was a piece of cake! Thanks for your comment! Life's been good so far!
