Usually just age, mileage, and stress's..

Should check all the mounts and replace any that show signs of failure. Ford is the only place I know their available, but never really looked.. You have to be carefull when repalcing anyhting made of rubber compounds anymore, so many are made over seas or south of the border and quality and longevity come into play..

It is becoming increasingly difficult to purchase replacement parts manufactured domestically. If you can afford it , most dealer parts are generally made to a higher standard.

I bought one of these it has a 6 year warrantee on it and its only $60. you just need to be able to work a press to put it in the mount, or know someone that does.

This is probably old news by now but maybe it'll help someone else. . .
According to the Ford parts list the item shown is an "engine support bracket." It limits the engine's twisting. The part# is 6F055, but there are two versions -- one for the 6-speed automatic transmission (part # 5F9Z 6F055 BB) and one for the CVT transmission (part# 5F9Z 6F055 CB). Evidentally, they are not interchangeable. The part of the bracket that has failed on your bracket is replaceable and there are kits to do it, but it requires a press to get the old bushing out and to press the new bushing in. Search for "6f055" on eBay where prices range from about $50 for a bushing replacement kit to over $200 for the whole Ford OEM strut. Pep Boys quoted me $144 (+ fees and tax) just to install the strut.
