No power to ignition?

No power to ignition?
Sooo. Long story short.
Moved the car this morning, everything was fine. Came back to start it and now it doesn't even recognize the key in the ignition. Battery is fine. No prior issues or odd sounds.
It has a remote start and not even that is working. Nothin of the remote system is working. Locks. Nothing.
Open the door and the dome lights are on. All the things you would expect to work
Without the key being turned on, work.
Thought maybe the security system went wonky and locked it down. Disengaged it. Unhooked the battery. Reset the system. Still nothing.
I had a stereo installed recently but the car has been fine since and just randomly did this today.
Any ideas? I really don't want to get to a dealership and it be something simple we could have fixed. I'm at wits end and don't want to
Have to pay so much just to have it towed to the garage in the first place :/

Could you provide the complete year and model of your vehicle? Also, were you able to make sure the connections at the battery and engine ground are good and clean? Some low voltage things will work with poor connections and yet those with a higher power requirement will not. If this is not the first time it has happened , what did you do to overcome the problem if that is the case? Are we sure the battery has a decent charge?

I know you stated the car was fine after the stereo was installed, but Ford vehicles don't like when aftermarket things are installed. If you can, disconnect the stereo system and see what you get. Your security system is controlled by the computer(PCM) and the PCM gets particular sometimes and will react by disabling things. When you take it in for check out , the first thing they will do is remove the stereo from the system. You might save yourself some $$ by doing this yourself, you can always put it back if you don't get it to respond.

No luck BUT my husband noticed the ground wire was touching the ingnition wire that runs from the stereo to the ignition.
Seems a little coincidental NOT to think that may have been the problem. He changed that of course but it still won't start. Since fuses are fine, could it be one of the fusable links in that area?
Definitely trying to check everything out that is possible for us to check out.
