Default Starter grinding

Just bought a 2005 with 91,000 miles.
Starter grinds on flywheel sometimes.
Shop found three missing teeth on ring gear.
Installed used flywheel. Could not locate new part.
One week later, Starter grinded again.

Any known issues with the 3.0/6spees automatic ?
Any different starters from a related application?

Thank you

I removed some of your duplicate posts.

Say you need to cut a metal bar and you use 2 vise grips to clamp the bar, you also need to secure the base of the vise grip either bolt or clamp it down on the table or bench or hold the base firmly.
Same can be said on your starter motor housing and its mounting position, if it takes 4 bolts all 4 must be tighten and torqued to spec. If there is a missing or loose bolt the motor housing (a moving part when running) can't stay securely, it can also cause misalignment causing the grinding issue.
If the starter motor is in absolute correct mounting position, then it's your flywheel that's out of position, misaligned due to warp or overheat components or something is not tighten to specs.

A little info if you will,,,,

You say the flywheel was replaced, what about the starter ?
There is a drive (Bendix drive assy) in the starter that gets moved out to engage the flywheel when the starter solenoid is energized. If the solenoid is faulty and cannot get the drive quickly engaged with the flywheel you will get the mashing /grinding of teeth. Was the starter replaced at anytime ?
The more info you can provide the better a diagnosis can be offered.

Yes, new starter. and battery
thanks
Been a week trouble free.
It was a $2200 car. Not worth more money.
Still curious why it would grind again.
Ring gear has all teeth, new starter and batt.
(original flywheel wasissing three teeth.)
thanks

Why do I have that feeling we are not done with this problem yet ? What ever was moved in the process of replacing things may have corrected the problem, lets hope so.
