Am I glad that I found this thread. I have the same issue with 2014 Focus (hatch). It only has about 86000km (53000mi) on it Took it over from aunt that had developed dementia in 2020. Had no issues until 2022 when started to shudder. Did get notice this year for 14M02.
Just this week it started to shudder to point that the ENGINE NEEDS SERVICE light turned on. It is sitting at a FORD dealership which diagnosed that transmission clutch needs replacing at about $4100 (ouch). The service tech did say that there was 19N08 recall but expired in JUN 2021.
You mentioned that 19N08 was extended to 10 years? Also the warranty that you were offered through FORD, is there a product/program code for it? I would like to see if there is anything like that here in Canada for it.
I also stumbled on a parts list & hours for this repair from FORD directive, and puzzled how dealership came up with their quote. Will have to try to see if transmission shop's pricing is similar.
Will try to contact FORD directly and see what they may offer, if anything.
Sorry for any confusion I may have caused. The original post I made was indeed about the transmission clutch issue and 19N08 that was extended until 2021, but unlike the TCM program 14M02, it was not extended again.
My Mom's issue was more about the "transmission hot - turn motor off 5 minutes" message that started flashing about a year ago. She said it also didn't shift smoothly (automatic transmission). When she took it in, they gave her the estimate about replacing the "clutch assembly" They did not speciically say it was related to the 19N08 program. But in 2016 she had her clutch replaced under the regular warranty and didn't have any issues with the transmission until about 18 months ago.
The Ford dealership a year ago, wasn't really clear in saying what the problem was but they "recommended" having the clutch assembly replaced. That's when I got on Ford's website and got in touch with customer service and threw a fit about Ford producing such a piece of crap. That's when they brought up the warranty. I don't think it has a specific CSP #, but I will go look it up later this morning and see if it does. If it does, I will post it here.
I don't know if getting the warranty while your car is currently sitting at the dealership with this diagnosis will help you. A year ago, we declined the "recommendation" since we didn't feel confident that this would resolve the problem. Especially since no one at the Dealership had ever heard of the "transmission hot - turn motor off" message. My mom doesn't drive very much (less than 10k miles in 9 years)
But I immediately got the warranty in place at that time. I honestly do not recall if there is a 30 day waiting period on any repairs on the car. I don't think there is, but having the car already in the shop at the time might be an issue.
I think if you call 833-781-7354 they can get your routed to the group that handles sales of the warranty, or provide you with the #, and hopefully answer the question about Ford's in Canada. That warranty office is in Denver so doesn't open until 8:00 a.m. Denver time.
Oh, regarding how they came up with the total estimate: the first time they just gave the parts list (clutch assembly, 2 clutch levers, transmission fluid) and then wrote by hand the estimated total. The 2nd time, I specifically asked them to put the labor estimate on the estimate, and they estimated the labor was 9 hours. After subtracting the total cost of the parts from the total cost of the repair and dividing by 9 I learned they were charging $175.00 an hour for labor. At first I thought this was insance, but I called a couple local Ford places here in Florida and their hourly labor rates were over $275.

I will also compare repair quotes with transmission shops in my area. Looks like it is a dilemma on whether to 'scrap' the vehicle or get it repaired.

I've removed (I think / hope) any identifying information about the dealership, people, etc. it's just a parts list and a hand-written labor estimate for my mom's clutch replacement for her 2014 ford focus (automatic transmission). (# of hours and total price of repair so I had to do the math to deterine what they charge per hour at that particular shop; and from other work they've done (like replacing the battery), $175-180 per hour seems to be consistent at this particular dealership)
As I mentioned in a previous post I guess the amount of labor was less than expected since the total price of the repair was closer to $2500.00 USD than what is listed. So my math concludes they charged 6 hours of labor vs 9.
