I have a 2008 Ford Focus SE with a little over 61,000 miles on it. Recently it's been acting up; all possible lights on the dashboard show up and my RPM's don't move, I can't tell how fast I am going, I can't see how many miles I have until empty or how many miles the car has on it...it goes blank with dashes ( ----- ) . When I shut the car off and try to turn it back on, I can't start it. I usually have to wait or I have to take the vehicle key off my key ring for it to start. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Is there an electrical shortarge somewhere? Does it have to do with the battery? (The battery is always corroded as well.) Could it be a blown fuse? HELP!

 

My guess: there is something bad on the printed circuit board or the connector. It could be bad solder points or a bad capacitor...
There are places that repair instrument clusters.
