There is an answer to the problem on Rock Auto.Com. it a replacement housing so you can us a replacable air filter. I ordered it, but it hasnt got here yet.

Michael, please let us know what you think of it when you get it installed.

Also, regarding TheShah post from December 2012, I'm guessing the $250 was just for the air filter, correct? How much was the labor if I may ask.

I installed the Dorman housing today. It fit right in, but takes some patience to get to. The housing is behind the left front splash shield. The front bolt is hard to get at, but you can get it if you take the left headlight out. The splash will always have to come off to replace the filter. Now I will see if it helps anything. I also priced the actual Ford part, and was quoted $383.00, and that was with the fleet discount through work.

that craps crazy as hell. what do they expect a person to do go and drive through a flood? It's much cheaper to buy a gallon of gas and book of matches.
