1996 f150 with 4.9l engine
Got 96 f150 with 4.9l by straight. Replaced o2 and tbs. It doing is run and cut it off. Go back to start it. Won't start back and got let it sit for 30 minutes. For crank up and gas smell in the exhaust. Drove it for over a mile and no check engine light. Is there a reader can pull up codes without check engine light on? What other things could be wrong with it?
Welcome to the site..
So,, the reason for the O2 and TPS was because of this stall? Or another concern?
Common issue was the ignition module will fail with heat, then after a short cooling they restart. Occasionally the pick up coil in the distributor will fail with the same result.
The module can be tested prior to replacement. Quite a few of the parts houses have testers and do it at no cost.
Generally if a module is failing, drivability is normal until the fail,, with no CEL
