Default 2000 Ford Focus

Hi, I'm new here. I own a 2000 Ford Focus as a 2nd owner for 11 years. I have this problem with my car making a loud sound and some vibration for some long time. I was told it could be ERG control or throttle. Is there by any chances anyone know how to DIY? Any special tools I need? Or do I just need to take it to the dealership?

Welcome !
As you know it's very easy to say it's this or that, but don't have the slightest idea where the noise is coming from or what it sounds like. Also, not knowing your level of mechanical ability it would seem foolish to say do this or that. If you took it to a dealership the service advisor will either ask to go for a test ride to hear it or try to get additional info from you. So which would you like to do at this time ?
When do you hear the noise? Does it happen when the engine is hot or cold?
Does it happen at a particular time or speed or when certain accessories are being used/ or on? Where do you hear it loudest? What part of the car does it seem to come from? Front, rear, engine compartment? Thanks for letting us try to help you.
