2003 ranger transmission
Hi Tony,
It does help some if you could tell us if the trans is std or automatic.
Did you do the install yourself or did someone else do it?
Depending on where the replacement came from, do you know if it worked where it was?

The auto trans was rebuilt. I installed it myself. It will shift into forward, but not reverse. Do the two band adjustments have anything to do with this? Ther guy who rebuilt the tranny made a last minute adjustment of them when I picked up the tranny.
I would suspect that either a sealing ring is installed incorrectly or the reverse clutch piston is not applying fully. You may have to have the gentleman open up the trans or at least do a air pressure test to see if the reverse clutch is functioning. Those tests are usually done routinely at assembly time to prevent a situation like this.
