Air Bag Recall- Can a certified Tech settle this?
Had airbag recall work done this week on 2010 Edge. Notice battery had NOT been disconnected as I had all radio presets preserved.
QUESTION
on't you have to disconnect the battery to replace defective airbag component on 2010 Edge?
Needless to say there are various opinions ranging from "no you do not need to disconnect the battery" to "Of course you need to..."
I appreciate if some Ford techs could answer this for me. In advance, I appreciate your time and assistance.

Hi Carl0s
There is absolutely no reason you cannot ask the service manager there how they did the recall. He should be able to tell you what the recall involved and how they handled it. Most customers don't care what was done as long as it was done. Good that you care !

Since the car is for my kid I am making sure...I asked service mgr and he said you do not need to disconnect battery. My friend at Firestone says you should otherwise this thing might go off as you work on it. It is recall 16S26 passenger airbag. I thought Ford techs would shed some light on this.
Thanks it for your reply.
