Default Coolant in Intake

My '95 Crown Vic overheated and I found the valley under the Intake full of coolant. I thought it was the heater pipe which runs under the Intake but that appears ok.Should my next move be the intake gaskets?Anybody been through this? Thanks

Before getting involved in that job , it would be wise to pressure test the cooling system and be sure of the leak location.

I agree with you. However I'm doing this in the driveway and don't have access to all the tools I should. What else do you suppose it could be.Hoses are all good.If not the heater pipe, then how did all the antifreeze get in the valley.doesn't it have to be the intake or head gasket? I appreciate your input,Thanks. The heater pipe is good, and removed.

After being wrong so many times guessing, Even if it takes a little extra work and effort speaking for myself I would suggest you take it someplace that can pressure test the system and remove all doubt.

I'm glad I took your advice. The nipple that the heater pipe attaches to had a hole on the under side.Do it right the first time. Will I ever learn. Thanks Hanky.

Now I'm wondering is this nipple a part of the water pump? It doesn't appear so from the photos Iv'e seen.

I don't believe it is. You may not be able to purchase an exact shape pipe , as long as it is the same size to accept the size hose. I have never had to replace one . Usually when you replace the water pump you just transfer the pipe nipple from the old pump to the new one. If you can't get one , maybe you can get it brazed someplace, I don't think solder will hold.
