Coolant in Intake
Where are you checking for the ply? If you have the belt removed there should be NO ply in the pump pulley itself ! If you are checking by moving the fan blade then what you see may be the ply in the fan clutch unit. Some is acceptable , but not very much. If you have a 1/4 inch at the CENTER of the clutch assembly that's too much.
Ok so here's where I'm at.The play is not an issue so I'm ready to get this going. In trying to remove the "nipple' so far all I've done is roll over the end of the nipple and it hasn't moved at all.It does remove towards the radiator right? What would you suggest? Thanks
And how about getting the new one in...Hanky talk to me.

Don't be confused. It's the nipple and rubber O ring that need replacing I have more to do than just work on the car.My thoughts are that it is really irrelevant how much time it's taking me, and I don't need your help with that kind of attitude, hanky.

In that case it's going to be penetrating oil, patience and maybe some heat from a Bernzomatic torch , providing there's room and the heat won't damage the rest of the water pump seal. When you do get it out now you need to clean the O ring sealing surface with an appropriate screwdriver handle and a piece of sandpaper. Not being there to see all the operating conditions , do you have room to get a pair of vise grips on the nipple so you can twist it either loose or off. Depending on which result you get will determine what your next step will be.
