disc brakes
i am putting new pads and rotors on my 1971 f250. i haven't done many disc setups. what i was wondering was, do you knock out the new races and put in the old ones. or do you just buy new bearings and put those with new races in the rotor.

Whenever you purchase new bearings , they are always sold in a set, outer race and inner brg..
Not a good idea to mix old and new brg pieces , but it is done and most of the time no problem.
If you are going to do the job, do the whole job. If your finances can afford it replace the brgs . A lot will depend on what you do with the vehicle and where you go.
For what it is worth, if at all possible try to get brgs made in USA. Chances are rotors were not made here.
