fuel pumps
Has anyone had a problem with Carter fuel pumps? I have gotten 2 rebuilts for my '58 sunliner 332 fe and they don't pump. Just got one back from Jerry's classic cars which was rebuilt and that one was no good either. One of the Carter's was taken down and was found that the diaphram was bad. HELP!

You can install an electric pump with a valve or two so the pump is out of sight , but there if and when you might need it.
Fuel pumps in those days were less dependable than today's pumps and if you were on the road and the mechanical pump decided to go into retirement , all you needed to do would be to open a valve or two and be like nothing happened . Never hurts to have a backup when needed.
