I have a 2002 Ford Mustang with a 3.8L engine and recently it began to spit and sputter and then my service engine light came on and I took it to see what the code was. The computer said misfire on cylinder #5 and suggested that I replace the spark plugs, spark plug wires, or the coil. It also gave me a code to replace the crank sensor. I changed the spark plugs and it still sputtered along and then I changed the wires and it ran worse nad now it wont even start. I changed the crank sensor and still no luck. Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be the problem and how to fix it?

 

sorry. your having so much trouble..
First go on the interent or if you have an Iphone. and get an Auto Doctor scanner app..
the go on ebay and get a "doggle" for it... they cost about $20... get the one your App suggests.
you can scan your engine yourself...
Now going from bad to worse I lean to the O2 sensor not working... but then it's just a guess...
when you changed your plugs did you get a reading on them... wet, oil fouled, grey, light tan...
another Tip is that when you check spark plug wires, do it at night.. when its dark. you can see if any wires have bad
insulation...
I'm sorry I can not be of more direct assistance, but that O2 app and doggle will help
