Default Negative battery cable

Just wanted to know when I put on a negative battery cable part of it splits off to go elsewhere. Would it be safe to just hook it to any engine ground? Thanks for any help.

Can I get additional information on your vehicle? Yea some go directly to the engine, some also go to the body as well. You have to make sure both are grounded.

Default Neg battery cable

Hello Thanks much for your quick response. It is a 2003 Ford escape XLT 3l. It's been sitting for awhile. First my alternator went out so I pulled the CV axle to change it just replaced EGR valve, Thought my started was going out, hopefully it is just a starter relay. Been working on that SUV for quite a whileThat starter tested ok while doing the two jump test on it. Got a lot more to work on with that SUV. Thanks again for your quick response!

No problem. It looks like it attaches to the transmission. I'll attach the picture. Let me know

*Forgot to tell you the ground wire is G108

G 108 looks like it hooks up to the starter bolt but I will check around first. Thanks again!

Your welcome
The picture shows it has its own bolt. However, the vehicle is older, and that cable could've been reinstalled wrong. Like the person or people before forgot where it went and just found a spot. I'd say just figure out a way to ground it however you can, and it'll work.
