Default Alarm not working

I have an 05 Freestar Limited (mentioned before) I was going to text my alarm. I did that by leaving a window down and locking the doors and waiting a few minutes, and then reaching in and opening the door and unlocking with the button on the door panel, however my alarm doesn't go off. Now I figure I have an alarm system because I have the red blinking light on the dash, along with the key fob, and the door keypad. Anyone know whats goin on?

The functionality of your vehicle's security system is contained within the PCM.

You have at least 2 choices and that is either a "certified locksmith with security clearance to access manufacturer info" or a dealership.

Even if you could follow the diagram, you need special info and tools to go further.
