Hi guys,A month ago, I went to a shop for an oil change and for new tires. Today, I heard a sharp noise coming from the front as I was starting my 2005 Freestar. I stepped out and saw some cast metal pieces lying on the ground and a pool of engine oil. I haven't try to turn the engine on yet but when I put the pieces together, it looks like an internal impact shattered the pan and opened a window approximately 5 in by 6 in.
Do you guys have any guess what happened to the oil pan? Is it a sign of an internal damage? Can oil change result in this kind of stuff?
