Can someone tell me how to remove the upper temp/compass console in a 2005 ford freestar. My temp reads 186. Also, where is the outside temp sending unit located, thanks, caisert

 

Your temperature sending unit is located under the rt. side front bumper. Its right above the power steering cooling fins, attached to the bumper cover plastic by a push in plastic connector. If your unit has become detached at the sending unit connector wiring, the temp will read 186.

turns out it was the sending unit, replaced it, all is well, thank you for you help
