Default Keyfob working, but my van won't recognize it.

I recently posted about a battery light issue. Now I have a brand new battery, alternator and I'm driving with a battery light always on despite having proper output in the ON and OFF positions.

Anyway, on Monday my van decided to not start. The theft light was flashing, great, I thought my antitheft system kicked me out. After a long wait at FORD, they discovered a broken wire and fixed it (from PCM to Ignition or Starter, etc..)

Now, my keyfob doesn't work! I took it to a stereo shop, they said the fob is actually producing a signal, but the vehicle might not accept it. They cannot fix this since it's a FORD fob, and the FORD dealership won't fix this without charging me and I REFUSE to pay more! They already ripped my off by charging me $529.00 for fixing ONE little wire their computer told them to fix, now they won't fix my keyless entry.

how can I do this myself?

Some locksmiths have the equip to maybe correct this problem. They are usually more reasonable chargewise than some dealerships. Check around until you find one that can help.

Do you have other key FOBS that still work with the vehicle? Since the key FOB is putting out a signal, have you tried to reprogram the key FOB back to the vehicle?
