Right transmission fluid

Urgent help
Please what is the best transmission fluid for 2004 Ford Freestar?
Is it Dextron III or Dextron II?
How many liters are needed for a renewed transmission?

All that should be in your owner's manual. If not physically available , you can view the owner's manual online.
Ford Dealer Service dept might help you out there.

12 quarts Motorcraft MERCONV Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-5-QM.
It wouldnt hurt to price out a case of Motorcraft(Ford) trans fluid from the dealer but honestly most any reputable oil brand should be fine as long as its Mercon V.
