06 Fusion Rubbing/Grinding Noise
I recently purchased my first Ford a few days ago and I must say, I am quite impressed. However there is a problem I'm hoping someone can help me with.
The car: 2006 Ford Fusion SEL, 48,000 km
The problem: Constant rubbing/grinding sound (it cycles, rub..rub..rub..) coming from the driver side, rear wheel area. As speed increases, so does the rubbing sound. The sound becomes very apparent when breaks are applied, especially at higher speeds. The sound has occaisionally turned into a high pitched squeak, in the same cycle as the rubbing. Lightly applying the break will stop the squeak. I've noticed the squeak comes after driving in wet weather, however it is intermittent and does not always occur after rainfall.
I would appreciate any help the forum could give. I will be taking it to the dealer either way, but if anyone has encountered the problem before or knows a solution, it would put my mind at ease.
