My girlfriend recently bought a 2012 Fusion SEL Im pretty sure its the 2.6L with 14k miles on it, she has had it for around 3 months and this last week the car has started running rough then dies on her and then would not start, this has happened about 4 times to her now. She took it to the dealership where she purchased it and they said that they could not find anything wrong with it. If anyone has any information or ideas on what may be causing this any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks for reading.

 

It would seem that the vehicle is covered by a warranty.
Just what does she do to get it restarted? Many times problems like these are erased from the system memory when the ign is turned off. She might try driving directly to the dealership without shutting the vehicle off the next time this happens. Hopefully there may be a code in the computer for them to at least get some idea what is happening. If this is possible it just might be worth a try.

 

if it's just dying out of know where, chances are its either Fuel or Spark related. my first guess would be fuel pump/filter. second would be the coil overs. If there is codes in the ECU it shouldn't remove the codes by turning the car off, it should stay in the ecu until the problem is fixed as long as the problem is still there the code will still show unless the codes are reset which could be by turning the car off, but most times there a way to erase the codes. but keep us updated!
