Hello all

Recently had my Fusion start to act up ( 2014 Ford Fusion SE 2.0 Ecoboost).

Originally had only a misfire cylinder 4 fault pop up. Initially thought spark plugs, no big deal. After swapping, the code persisted and add a CPS fault to the list. Swapped the CPS and those have gone away. Now I'm back at the cylinder 4 misfire.



I've got sluggish acceleration to downright skipping a beat when doing quick acceleration. Occasionally I'll hear a ping but only when attempting to merge for highway speeds and then still only every now and then. It was idling at 60% engine load till this morning when for no reason that got cleared up. However it still bounces between 400~-1000 rpm at parked idle. Drive idle is more like 300~-700 rpm. Went to pick up a fuel injector this morning thinking this was the next logical step. Pulling into my parking spot I got a 1 or 2 second notification of low oil pressure. Pulled the dipstick and smoke came out of the dipstick hole for a solid 30 seconds if not a little more before it cleared out. Got the car home and let it sit for roughly and hour and a half, dipstick came back clean after wiping.



Any ideas? I've been told thus far that it's either the PCM, piston rings or turbocharger. Really not trying to spend an arm and a leg and do all three by chasing down the problem as I don't have the money to do that.



NOTE: the ignition coils seemed ok and I noticed no problems with the spark wires or engine harness but didn't tear it all apart for a full review.
