Just test drove a 2017 ford fusion hybrid. From what I read they are supposed to get 43 city/ 41 highway so why was I only getting around 25? The hybrid battery was 1/2 charged. Does this have something to do with the decreased mpg?

 

It is difficult to say because we don't know how the vehicle is used. If the internal combustion engine (ICE) runs a lot to charge the battery which may be near it's replacement time, gas consumption will no doubt increase.

 

The next step is to test drive a chevy malibu hybrid and see if it has the same issue. Thaks for your input Hanky.
