There is a good criticism against Ford about axing the passenger cars, reports at TorqueNews.

Some of these cars like Fusion, are great cars, why is Ford axing them? Can Ford make a new division of passenger cars and they carefully examine how to make passenger cars that can better compete with Toyota, Honda and Nissan.

 

Making a better sedan doesn't do a company any good if it only produces a small profit per unit. The money is in the SUV based world. GM is looking to follow suit.
