transmission/Speedo not shifting properly
2008 fusion SE Each time the car is started the transmission will stay in first gear for an excessive amount of time / rpm. The Speedo will not register any speed until the transmission shifts to second. Then Speedo registers just fine and shifting returns to normal. Immediately it throws two codes. One for transmission speed sensor and one for transmission output speed sensor. I have replaced the trans speed sensor and cleared codes, no change. The part stores don't even show a part for trans output sensor. Each time the key is cycled off /on this pattern stats again. Any suggestions. The car did not have this problem until my daughter continued to drive in a massive down pour that she probably should have pulled over and waited out. It has been like this for over a month. At first intermittent and now with each key cycle.
I replaced the one on top. The parts stores don't even list a part number for the output speed sensor. Is this a ford only part?
Where abouts would this output be located looking at it from normal position standing in front.
I've located the trans speed sensor (on top), the input sensor located in front side near what would bell hell housing, then the PRNDL switch/sensor is about mid way to driver axle on the front side. I still haven't located the output. I'm assuming it would be on the driver axle, but I guess it could be from under the car on the pass axle??

Update for those that might have a similar problem.
Once I got the car up on a rack, I pulled the sensor on the passenger axle housing. By the way it's the same sensor as the one up top. It had about 4 cc of water in between the sensor and the wire pigtail. Went ahead and replaced it just because I didn't want to go back and forth up on rack. I'm sure once I dried the original sensor it would have worked. Anyway cleared the codes and trans shifting and Speedo acted normal immediately. Problem solved.
