Car won’t engage into drive
Hey, I'm new here, just bought a beautiful 2000 mustang gt about two days ago, this car is the most I’ve ever had fun driving. But last night I ran into a problem, I was driving home when my car suddenly stopped accelerating and my rpm was just revving like it was in neutral, I checked it out and revved it all the way to 5k rpm and it engaged but jerked the car and the car ran normal for about 10 secs before it de engaged and felt like it was in neutral, the weird thing is, reverse works, 1 and 2 don’t work, over drive also turns off everytime I start the car now, I have a b and m hammer shifter that was recently put in. Any ideas what could of happened? Again, drive only engages at around 5k rpm then goes back to neutral when I let the rpm drop, thank you
Hi buddy,
There are many reasons why your vehicle may be losing power, especially when accelerating. Some of these common causes are: Mechanical problems such as: Low compression, clogged fuel filter, dirty air filter, clogged Exhaust Manifold. ... Malfunction of actuators such as: Bad injectors, bad fuel pump, bad spark plugs.

Hello, I am sorry to hear that. It happens, and you are not the only one with such a problem. A problem with the automatic gearbox can cause costly repairs. And ask yourself to have it just broken, because if it needs a replacement, it could be more reasonable to buy a new car than a new gearbox. This is why it is important to insure your car in time. Still, it is not late, contact some guys from https://www.moneyexpert.com/car-insu...ars-to-insure/, and maybe they will find a way to help you.
