Default Electrical Connector - Orphan

I just bought a 1996 Mustang GT. I don't know what this electrical connector goes to, or if it's a ground. It comes out of the factory wiring harness and seems stock. It has a pretty long length and comes from the driver's side firewall area under the hood. Any ideas?

I found out that this goes to a connector attached to the bottom side of the hood. I believe it's for a light bulb.

Those lights came in handy if you got stuck at night.
