Default 2000 Ranger 4.0l fuel issue.

I have a 2000 Ranger with a 4.0. My fuel pressure is at 72psi at an idle. 70psi running down the road. I believe it should be around 65psi. My truck also seems to be running very rich. Rather bad mpg and you can smell gas while it runs. It will also load up and stall if you sit at a light/stop foe an extended time. Haven't had a chance to put a scanner on it yet.

There should be a fuel pressure regulator on the injector fuel rail with a vacuum hose connected to the top. If you remove that small hose and fuel comes out or has any fuel in it, the diaphram in it is ruptured and it needs to be replaced, not a difficult job.
