Default 2004 Ford Ranger 3.0 (Air intake- mafs not hooked up))

Bought this ranger 2months ago, been driving it around with a check engine light, because I havent been able to find an intake assembly for it. It has a cold air intake with no visible plug in for the maf sensor. It had a few codes about pertaining to the air, and one cylinder misfire code. Yesterday on a long drive, it felt like it lost half it's power, was a bit shaky and consumed twice the gas amount it should. I'm guessing a cylinder misfire or something. Needless to say, I need your help ford-forum.

The Maf sensor needs to be on there. Without it the engine runs on other inputs, but that's all. Try a few salvage yards and make sure to get the correct parts for a 3.0 L.
Without the MAF performance and economy go out the window.
After you install the replacement missing intake and sensor it will be necessary to remove the battery neg cable for 1/2 hour to allow the computer to lose / forget the incorrect adaptive fuel strategy . Keep us informed on how you make out.
