My 88 Fored Ranger will go about 2 miles and then it will shuts off.
Replaces:
Distributor
both fuel pumps

Check to ensure that the small ground lead coming off of the negative battery post has a good clean connection. This is the main ground to the CPU along with other components and loss of, or a bad connection of this ground will keep the fuel injectors from firing.

it might be that the coil is getting too hot and shutting the engine down !
