Default Burning oil bad!!

I have a 1992 Ford Ranger with the 3.0 v6 5 speed. It has roughly 230,000 miles. It burns a quart of oil every 500 miles or so. I never change my oil, only the oil filter, and after 30,000 miles the oil on the dipstick looks like brand new oil thats how bad it is.

Other than the possibility of the oil rings on the piston being worn out, what could cause it to burn so badly? It does smoke blue smoke, no oil leaks, and this truck has been very well maintained.
Thanks,
Mechaniczman

A thorough check of the PCV system might offer a possibility.

I did clean the pcv valve and the hose, didnt really make a noticable difference, I know on my dodge durango I had to replace the plenum gasket on the intake and it stopped burning oil but idk if these engines have something like that?
