the check engine light on my ford ranger 2001 and the computer checked it and the code turned out to be a EGR valve, I already changed it but the check engine light keeps coming on, and when i scan it with the computer again it keeps saying its the EGR valve after i already changed it, any suggestions

 

What's the code? It could be the tube is clogged or DPFE sensor that detects that's it really open or the modulator solenoid that actually opens it or a vacuum leak that prevents it from opening. I think that covers 90% of cases. :-)
