Default fuel pump??

I have a 2003 ford ranger edge, 6cyl with 93,000 miles. It won't start. The motor turns but doesn't fire up. I checked the fuel pressure valve and there is no fuel coming out from there at all. There is also spark, I checked that. I have a quarter tank of gas left, so I know I have gas. Could this be the fuel filter or fuel pump? I don't hear the humming of the fuel pump. Anyone please advise. Thanks.

Fuel pump or fuel pump relay. The pump should only run for 2-3 seconds and then shut off (full pressure met). Remove the gas cap and have somebody hold their ear to the filler neck. Turn the key on and listen for the pump to cycle quick. If no cycle, then I would start with the relay before the pump.

I'll check that next. Thanks. If that's not it, I assume I have to replace the fuel pump?

Hit any pot holes, hard bumps or curb that may have tripped the inertia switch? Did it stop running while driving, or just wouldn't start the next time you tried?

It just didn't start after parking the car. It has never happened before. I was in an accident in April. They rear ended me but it was minor. I don't think that could have done it. Should I check for that also? Inertia Switch. I'll add that to my list to check along with Pump Relay.

It wouldn't hurt to check it. I would start with the fuel pump relay. Sometimes they "HANG" in the off position. Had that happen on my 88 Ranger S/C. Took the relay out, dropped it on the concrete from about 4', put it back in and it worked fine for another 4 years before it just plain quit. Worth a try as fuel pump relay issues are common.
