I own a 2004 FX4 level II, which comes with the 4.0. Twice in the past six months while out running short errands, the engin will act like its out of gas and wont start. after letting it sit for around an hour it will start right up. Is this typical for this engin? Is there some sort of security device in action here? If any one out there has any insite or sugesstions they would be big help.

 

is the fuel filter plugged, are you getting fuel, do you have ****ty gas, do you have enough fuel pressure, is fuel pump engaging properly?

let us know. what you found out was wrong.
