i have a 96 ranger 4cyl automatic and when u mash the gas pedal for the transmission to downshift it does not ive heard of this problem before and the truck also threw a shift solenoid code how hard is that solenoid to change truck also does not go into over drive? Any advice will be greatly appriciated.

 

The downshift is a cable adjustment by the throtle cable.As for the shift solinoid post the code.
