Alright so I attempted to burp the system through the radiator. I put a big funnel on top of it and let it run with the cap off. I did get some bubbles out of it and I let the t stat cycle a few times. Seems as though it doesnt cycle like it should. Maybe its the fail safe t stat I bought. My blend door is operating properly. I also checked that the core was getting flow to it. I just barely moved the return hose and it spit out a bunch of coolant along with some air bubbles. Again thanks for the help

Another thing to consider ... you replaced the t-stat ... is there a chance you replaced it up-side-down?

Basically when the engine overheats the spring snaps to the open position allowing full coolant flow from the radiator rather than 0 flow. Mines supposed to maintain 192 degrees.

I hope you don't buy another used vehicle because the previous owner got rid of it because of a problem he/she didn't want to solve and correct. There are lots of them out there !

Yeah I figured as much when I bought it. But I never expected it to be this bad! $700 doesnt get you very far nowadays. If I could afford a new vehicle I'd buy one. For now I'll have to deal with old(er) vehicles.

I just bought a F150 4.6 Super Crew. Truck runs great, but only the tiniest bit of heat. AC works great. I have flushed out the heater core with water. The person I bought it from recently had the radiator redone. Both hoses are hot. Flow great now that core is flushed and back flushed. Mechanic from previous owner told her actuator motor and blend door were working properly. Since mechanic was a pro and family friend, on the surface for the moment I will trust motor and door okay. So what is left? Control **** seems intact and does switich properly from AC to heat side. fan blowing well. All I can think of now is to check the climate control behind **** and test and check connections to the actuator motor. Any thoughts? Thanks much
