Default oil pressure question

Hello, I have a 2000 range with a 2.5 v4 it has 138000. Pretty mich perrs like a kitten. Instument panel has never really worked correctly. I bought it new and at about 30000 the lights in the panel started going out, even it I replace them they would go out after a short time. Recently the oil gage flicks up and down at random. Sometimes it does not go up at all until the engine warms up. No matter what the oil gage is doing the engine seems to run perfectly. It does nothing to make me think the engine has no oil pressure no funny nioses or rough idleing. Should I be concerned about the eratic behavior of the oil gage? what should I do?

Check the oil dipstick to make sure you have plenty of oil. If that is fine, could be a sensor going bad.

yes better safe than sorry. I would buy a $20 mechanical gauge and hook up to at least know for sure.
