Default Performance problem

I noticed the 93 I just bought didn't seem to have as much power as the 89 I just sold. They were both 2wd, 2.3L, 5 sp trucks but hills I can climb in 4th gear in the 89 I have to use 3rd in the 93. After driving the 93 for a few days I have noticed what seems like a minor miss. espcially noticable under load or cruising in 5th gear at highway speed. Seems kinda odd, not like a hard miss. The check engine light isn't on and the plugs and wires look fairly new although I really don't know the history of the truck. I am thinking it could be a coil problem or fuel pump? any suggestions?

Default RE: Performance problem

I have tested the fuel pressure and replaced the plugs even though they looked new with no change. The check engine light doesn't come on so there are no codes. I pulled a wire off a sensor so it would kick the light on and go into bypass and it runs normal but I have to look at the check engine light...frustrating. I thought it was one of the coil packs but the miss went away when I unplugged the sensor.
